HEIDI ZHANG

Living and working on the traditional territory of the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Huron-Wendat, I acknowledge the current treaty holders of this land as the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to peaceably share and care for the Great Lakes region. As an Asian immigrant in Canada, I recognize how immigrant settler identities are constructed through a complex interplay of white nationalism and settler-colonialism. I continue to unlearn colonial logics while exploring the dynamic relationship between settler guilt, responsibility, and action.
